Stars and Highlights of the Week 6/3/2026
It’s been another busy and creative week across the school. Our P1/2 pupils enjoyed exploring symmetry through art, creating some beautiful and colourful pieces. With the lovely weather, classes also made the most of outdoor learning, enjoying lessons and activities in the fresh air.
Our P3/4 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Holding History Viking workshop, exploring real artefacts such as coins, clothing, jewellery, and weapons found in Ireland. A big thank you to Seán from Holding History for such an engaging session — the children loved getting hands-on and learning all about Viking life.
We proudly celebrated our Stars of the Week, along with pupils who received Times Tables Rock Stars “Gone Green” certificates, Accelerated Reading awards, and recognition for their fantastic progress in learning. Congratulations to this week’s House Cup team champions — a great achievement and wonderful teamwork from everyone involved!
A big well done to some of our pupils who did an amazing job raising money for Dungiven Celtic, taking part in activities such as running, baking, and even organising a car wash — a fantastic effort and a great example of community spirit.
We also celebrated World Book Day, with pupils dressing up as their favourite characters and sharing their love of reading throughout the school.
Wraparound Care – Traditional Music. Children at Wraparound Care enjoyed a lovely introduction to traditional music this week, even getting the chance to play Miss Kelly’s harp.
A very happy birthday to our wonderful Miss Donnelly! We hope you have a lovely weekend celebrating and thank you for everything you do for our pupils each day.
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend
