Stars & Highlights of the Week 23.05.2025
This week was Assessment Week, and we’re so proud of our pupils for their hard work, focus, and positive attitude. They approached each task with great determination and gave it their best effort throughout.
On Monday, we celebrated our fantastic Primary 4s with a special Holy Communion parade and party. They looked wonderful in their outfits and proudly paraded through the school to cheers from pupils and staff.
Also on Monday, pupils enjoyed the Skill School Dance Club, a great way to keep active and expressive through movement.
On Tuesday, Primary 6 enjoyed a Taster Day at Loreto College, Coleraine, getting a great insight into post-primary life through fun activities and exploration. Back at school, the rest of our pupils took part in Skill School Club. Our past pupil Cormac Óg popped in with the MacRory and Hogan Cups. What a treat for the children to see the trophies up close and hear his inspiring words about teamwork and dedication in sport!
Wednesday was packed with activity, with Primary 3 and 4 pupils taking part in Shared Education, building friendships and learning alongside pupils from other schools. As well as after school Hurling and Camogie.
Thursday brought success as our boys took part in the North Derry Boys’ Football Championship and gave a fantastic performance, winning their matches! A huge well done to everyone involved – your teamwork and sportsmanship were outstanding.
The day also included our Gaelic and Fundamentals Club, which the children really enjoyed.
Also our curious Primary 1 and 2 pupils watched with excitement as their caterpillars moved from their little pots to the butterfly net, now in their chrysalis stage—one step closer to becoming butterflies!
On Friday, our camogie team represented the school brilliantly at the Lorna Moore Camogie Cup hosted at Drum GAC. A massive thank you to all involved for your effort and enthusiasm! As well we celebrated our Stars of the Week – well done to all the pupils who earned their certificates through hard work, good behaviour, and setting a great example.
We would like to wish a very happy birthday to our lovely teacher Miss Cara McKeever! Thank you for all the joy and care you bring to your class each day.
A big thank you to Cara and Maggie for all their help during their work experience in Primary 1 and 2. They were fantastic with the children, and we wish them all the best in their future studies—come back and visit!
Just a reminder: School will be closed on Monday for the Bank Holiday – we hope everyone enjoys the extra day of rest, and we’ll see you back on Tuesday!
