Stars & Highlights of the Week 20.03.26
It’s been a short week in school, with the children enjoying two busy days back — we hope everyone had a lovely St. Patrick’s Day!
Our staff have been working hard behind the scenes to develop and improve our outdoor areas, and we’re really looking forward to seeing these spaces come to life for the children in the coming weeks. It’s exciting to think about all the new opportunities for play, creativity, and learning these areas will bring.
We were delighted to celebrate our Stars of the Week, recognising pupils for their continued effort, kindness, and positive attitudes.
We celebrated the children who recently made their Confirmation - a very special milestone in their faith journey.
Our Primary 7 pupils showed great leadership this week, helping P1/2 to make lovely bird feeders - a fantastic example of teamwork and care for our environment.
A huge well done to the girls who played at half-time during the Derry vs Meath match - what an incredible experience! And best of luck to our two boys who will be taking part in the Derry vs Cavan half-time match - we know you’ll do brilliantly!
We also marked World Down Syndrome Day by wearing our odd socks, celebrating individuality, inclusion, and acceptance. It was a fun and meaningful way for the children to show that everyone is unique and valued in our school community.
A heartfelt thank you to Miss Kelly for her time with us at St. Mary’s. We have absolutely loved having her in school - her Irish teaching and the beautiful addition of her harp playing brought so much joy to our pupils. She did a fantastic job, and we wish her every success and happiness as she continues on her teaching journey.
Another great week at St. Mary’s - we hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
