Stars and Highlights of the Week 17.10.2025

18th Oct 2025

We kicked things off on Monday with our brilliant Rock Star Day — the children looked absolutely amazing in their rock ‘n’ roll outfits! Thank you to all our families for helping with costumes and supporting the fun. A huge thank-you as well to Martin, Rory, Daryl, and Dee for their fantastic live performance — the energy, music, and atmosphere were electric, and the children (and staff!) absolutely loved every moment.

Throughout the week, classes got creative with some wonderful autumn art, celebrating the season with colour, imagination, and flair. Our Primary 3/4 pupils also enjoyed — making their very own chocolate apples in class! They loved decorating (and of course tasting!) their delicious creations, adding a sweet finishing touch to a week full of creativity and fun.

We were also proud to hand out certificates for Mathletics, Times Tables Rock Stars, Best Dressed Rock Star, and Pen Licences — congratulations to all our pupils who continue to work hard and show such enthusiasm for learning.

We were also delighted to present Times Tables Rock Stars certificates to two pupils who successfully turned their heatmaps green by recalling all their facts in under four seconds! What an amazing achievement — well done to both of our speedy mathematicians!

We also celebrated our Stars of the Week, recognising kindness, effort, and positive attitudes across the school — well done to all our shining stars!

And exciting news — our Faith Dove now has a beautiful new name! Thank you to our Primary 7 pupil who named our Dove - Hope, a perfect reminder of what faith truly means in our St. Mary’s family.

A special highlight of the week was the visit from the Drum Senior Camogie team, who brought along their championship trophy to share their success with us! The children were so excited to meet the girls, ask questions, and hear about their journey. The players spoke about the importance of teamwork, determination, and believing in yourself — a brilliant message for our pupils to take away. Thank you again to the team for inspiring everyone with your visit!

Finally, a quick reminder that School Photo Day takes place on Monday — please ensure pupils come in wearing full school uniform and their brightest smiles!

Another fantastic week full of learning, music, creativity, teamwork, and faith — with everyone reflecting, and working hard to make positive choices together.
