This Week at St. Mary’s
Our pupils have been settling into school life brilliantly, and it has been a joy to see such happy, enthusiastic faces throughout the week. A special highlight was our Primary 1 children taking part in their very first full school assembly — a big milestone which they embraced with confidence and pride.
Thank you to all families who supported our bee-naming competition — we are delighted to announce that the winning name, chosen by a Primary 1 pupil, is Barnabee. As her big brother was finishing later in the day, he had the honour of bringing Barnabee home for the weekend!
We also celebrated a fantastic sporting achievement this week as one of our Primary 4 pupils proudly shared her camogie medal at assembly. At St. Mary’s, we love to recognise not only what pupils achieve in school but also the wonderful things they do outside of it. Children are always encouraged to bring in certificates, medals, or awards they receive so we can celebrate their success together as a school family.
Another highlight of the week was a visit from Jack at Skill School, who delivered a brilliant taster session for our pupils. The children absolutely loved the activities. We are delighted to share that Skill School will now be running as an after-school club — parents will have the opportunity to sign up their children if they would like them to take part.
The children are really enjoying our Stay and Play sessions. It’s a lovely opportunity for them to unwind after the school day, spend time with friends, and take part in a variety of fun activities. From games and crafts to outdoor play, there’s something for everyone, and it has been wonderful to see the children laughing, chatting, and building friendships in a relaxed setting.
Finally, we are so proud of all our pupils this week, especially our Stars of the Week, who have been shining examples of kindness, effort, and collaboration. Well done to each of you!
