Stars & Highlights of the Week 06.02.2026

6th Feb 2026

It has been another busy and rewarding week across the school. We proudly celebrated our Stars of the Week, recognising pupils for their effort, kindness, and positive attitudes.

We were especially delighted to celebrate some brilliant achievements from Miss Doherty’s class, where three pupils were recognised for their success in Irish dancing, gymnastics, and karate. These achievements highlight the wide range of talents and interests within our school, and we love celebrating every child’s unique strengths.

We were pleased to welcome Miss Kelly, who will be joining our school after mid-term, and we are very much looking forward to having her as part of our team.

Pupils took part in a Safer Internet talk with Mrs Jackson- pupils learned important tips about using the internet safely and responsibly during our Safer Internet session.

We gathered for school Mass, where their beautiful singing and thoughtful readings were a credit to them.

Preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion continued through online sessions, while our Primary 7 pupils took part in their Confirmation Retreat, giving them time to reflect and prepare for this special milestone in their faith journey.

We were proud of our pupils who represented the school in the CNB North Derry indoor girls’ football and boys’ hurling qualifiers, showing great teamwork and determination.

Parent-Teacher Meetings also took place this week — thank you to all families for your continued support.

We were delighted to hear that one of our Primary 7 pupils has been selected to play at half-time during the Derry vs Carlow Senior Camogie League Match at Owenbeg. What a fantastic opportunity and a moment to be very proud of! She will also be joined by our wonderful Miss Donnelly, who will be playing in the match — a brilliant example and inspiration for our pupils. We wish them both the very best of luck!

We hope everyone enjoys a lovely, restful mid-term break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready to learn!
