Buzzing into a New School Year at St. Mary’s!
A very warm welcome back to St. Mary’s as we begin a brand-new school year together. We hope the summer brought rest, joy, and that our pupils have returned feeling refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
We are especially delighted to welcome our new P1 pupils and families into the St. Mary’s community, as well as our new members of staff — Miss Donnelly, Rachel McIntyre, and Claire Mackey. We wish them every success for the year ahead and look forward to working together in the spirit of our school values of collaboration and faith.
This week also saw the arrival of a very special new pupil — our school bee teddy! The bee will be a friendly reminder of our values, buzzing with messages of teamwork, kindness, and community. Over the coming week, pupils will have the chance to help name our bee for just £1. We can’t wait to see what creative names our children come up with.
We have had a fantastic first week of learning, settling into routines, and getting to know our new pupils and staff.
Stars of the Week
We were proud to present our first Stars of the Week of the school year — celebrating kindness, effort, and achievement in the classroom. It’s always a joy to recognise our pupils’ hard work and positive attitudes, and we’re excited to see many more shining stars in the weeks ahead.
A few reminders for the year ahead:
- Rise & Shine (Breakfast Club) runs daily from 8:00–8:30am.
- Stay and Play operates from 2:00– 3:00 for our p1/2 or 2:00- 5:30pm — places can be booked weekly via the SchoolMoney App.
- Our full school calendar (term dates, holidays, and events) is available on our website — please check regularly for updates.
- SchoolMoney is our online payment system for meals, clubs, and trips — please book and pay for the following week by Friday.
Thank you to everyone for making our first week back so positive and welcoming. Have a lovely weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday for another great week of learning!
